Facto
Student work
Collaboration with Janne Bliemeister
For Facto, a small father-son company from the Hamburg area, which produces high-quality forged knives with handles made from recycled plastic, we decided to create a new presentation of the brand and a combination of Janosch Freuschle’s (son) products with those of his father (Michael Schimmel). Janosch uses an open source process to make the handles from recycled plastic, as well as smaller items such as combs, buttons and much more. Michael, on the other hand, is a master blacksmith and makes the blades in the traditional way using an anvil and hammer.
The new logo is a combination of the Janosch Freuschle logos and the Facto logo currently in use.
The “JF” is now used as the initial of Facto and the rings remain to maintain the recognition value.
As the budget is not particularly high, we thought of using public spaces for posters in places such as St. Pauli or Eimsbüttel. Advertising pillars and billboards would be perfect, which you can put up freely.
Of course, packaging is essential for an online store. We thought it would be easiest for a small business to have a small wrapper that you can put around any type of packaging to enhance the feeling.
The website contains the store as well as all information about the manufacture of the products and the company itself. You can also use the contact form to send in your own plastic scrap and order items made from this material if you wish.
